Goal & Mission

The Lawrence County Learning Center (LCLC) is a non-profit 501 ( c) 3 organization that is funded by the PA State department of Education and governed by The Board of Directors (link) which consists of community leaders from business, education, not for profits and government.

The purpose of the LCLC is to identify, implement, and oversee new and innovative efforts to provide access to post-secondary education opportunities and training.

Since its inception in August 1998, the Learning Center has successfully positioned itself as a major facilitator of post-secondary educational opportunities for the citizens of Lawrence County and surrounding areas.

The LCLC operates as part of the Learning Resource Council of Lawrence County (LRC). The LRC is dedicated to facilitating quality comprehensive educational programs in support of the community’s economic, cultural, and intellectual needs. We match the appropriate training/educational programs of various providers to meet the needs of local businesses and others. We offer the use of our facility free of charge.

Looking forward, the Learning Center’s commitment remains clear:

1) We will continue to work with the various educational institutions (our “partners”) to offer educational programs and individual courses which, in our assessment, best fill the needs of our community
2) We will provide a clean, safe and accessible environment in which such courses can be taught
